Named flag bearer for Italy at the XX Winter Olympic Games of Torino 2006, Carolina says: "It's an honour for me to represent Italy and all the young athletes around the world. The children of Gaslini Pediatric Hospital whom I visited yesterday gave me incredible strength and I'm sure I'll manage to carry the official flag with pride, despite its weight, thinking about the courage they show everyday. After the Olympics, I plan to put up for auction the costumes designed for me by Roberto Cavalli and then hand over the proceeds to Un Sogno per il Gaslini Association to contribute to the renovation of the building where the young patients will be able to study and play".
