Dear friends and fans
I can't believe this has been my 10th European Championship. Thinking back, fortunately, it is much easier to remember the good moments! I would like to thank you all for the cheering, the support and the messages last week in Sheffield and also for all those past years during my best but also my worst moments. It feels very special to know that my skating and the work I put in is appreciated, and that my passion for this sport can reach your hearts. A special thanks to Sara, Kat, Eleonora and the Caro-Fans who take such good care of this wonderful page! <3
YOU ARE AWESOME! THANK YOU AND SEE YOU SOON!
Love Carolina

Carolina designes & creates her 2011/2012 costumes
| |
For the 2011/2012 season, Carolina designed and created her own competition costumes, thanks to a collaboration with the Umbrian clothing brand "T-Shirt T-Shops" and an agreement with "Swarovski Elements".
For the short program, she is wearing a bright green/yellow dress, interpreting the seven deadly sins to Allegretto from Trio No. 2 by Dimitri Šostakovic. The costume for the long program, skated to Concerto No. 27 by Mozart, outlines the silhouette of a dancer and evokes a sky full of stars through more than one million of Swarovski elements.

Carolina wins Gold at the Gardena Spring Trophy |
| |
Torino, 4th April (La Presse) - "My dream is to win a medal at the World Championships" reveals Carolina in an exclusive interview with Fuji TV after the cancellation of the event that has been later relocated in Moscow.
"When the tragedy happened, we were all very sad. We were so looking forward to going to Japan, so this affected us in two ways: Of course, mainly because of the big tragedy. Secondly because I couldn't return to a country that I love" said the skater from South Tyrol. "I went through a difficult time during which no one knew what would be decided. Now that we know that the World Championships are going to take place in Moscow in the end of April, everything is a bit more clear and slowly we are focusing again, getting ready and finding new motivation" Carolina said. "The rivals? I think that our Japanese friends will certainly be very strong because they were prepared for Worlds at home. Also, after all that has happened, they will have additional motivation to do well." Carolina just won the ISU Gardena Spring Trophy, which proves that she is one of the world's top contenders. Carolina won't skate at Galà di Torino
| |
Dear friends and fans! As the World Figure Skating Championships in Japan have been postponed and will now be held in Russia from April 24 to May 1, me and my coach have decided to cancel all scheduled appoinments until then in order to concentrate more on my training and to take better care of my knee which is still bothering me. Following the Gardena Spring Trophy in the beginning of April, I will return to Oberstdorf to continue my preperations for the World Championships.
I am very sorry for not being able to skate at the Torino Gala on April 9 - you know how much I love the audience in Torino, the Palavela and the city of Torino... but in situations like these, I am an athlete and I have to focus on the competition. I am sure the cast of great champions at the Torino Gala will move your heart and it will be a great night of skating!
You will see me soon and keep your fingers crossed for me.

Carolina comments on postponed Worlds |
| |
Translated from LaPresse: "It would have been difficult to perform and feel joy in a country which is living a moment of devastation. Not much for my personal risk, but I wouldn't have been there with peace in my heart. Only if they told me that this could have brought joy to the Japanese people, then I would have done it with all my heart. I agree with the ISU and Mr. Cinquanta's decision. I am very sorry because I love Japanese people and they have also shown me great appreciation in return. But my sadness is nothing compared to what they are experiencing. I am very close to my fellow skaters from Japan and I hope none of their families are involved in this tragedy. Japan is one of the places where skating is most appreciated and I am convinced that we will be back to skate there sooner than imagined." |
